Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using PDF Tools ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PDF Tools provides browser-based and server-assisted tools for processing PDF files including merging, splitting, compressing, converting, protecting, OCR, summarizing, and translating documents. Browser tools are free to start. Paid Pro access unlocks higher usage limits, larger files, batch workflows, and additional productivity features.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use the Service to:

• Process files containing illegal content, malware, or intellectual property you do not own
• Attempt to overload, attack, or disrupt our servers (DoS/DDoS)
• Automate bulk requests in a manner that degrades service for other users
• Circumvent any technical limitations or security measures
• Upload files containing sensitive personal data of others without their consent

4. Your Files

You retain full ownership and responsibility for any files you process using the Service. By uploading a file to a server-side tool, you confirm you have the right to process that file. We do not claim any ownership over your files and delete them immediately after processing.

5. Paid Plans and Billing

Paid PDF Tools Pro and Business access is sold as a monthly software subscription. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, PayPal, or another payment provider shown at checkout. Paid access begins after successful payment confirmation. Pricing, renewal terms, named-user allowances, and included limits are shown before checkout.

Business workspace owners may invite people up to the purchased named-user limit. Invitations are personal to the invited email address. Owners are responsible for membership administration and may remove members at any time. Business access inherited from a team ends when membership or the owner's active subscription ends.

6. Refunds and Cancellations

You may request a refund within 7 days of a new Pro or Business purchase if the paid features were not useful for your workflow. Refunds are reviewed through our support channel and may be refused for abuse, excessive usage, chargeback fraud, or violations of these terms. You may manage an available billing portal from your account or request cancellation through support.

7. No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Results will meet your specific requirements
• All file formats will be supported perfectly

Always keep backups of important files before processing them.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDF Tools shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including data loss or file corruption.

9. Service Availability

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. The "Last updated" date will reflect changes. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
